During preparation, I was crazy with the book of ""SAMURAI: an illustrated history" by Mitsuo Kure". I saw women in samurai society and samurais' ranks and positions such as Samurai commander and his Shucho (in Nanbokucho Period).
I also watched animes (Japanese cartoon) during that time. I saw Nurarihyon no Mago, which the "good demons" had Japanese traditional cultures and wars. They also wanted peacefulness in their society.
From both things, I decided to create the concept of "Peacefulness in Samurai Society". Of course samurais had their own families. They also wanted peacefulness with their beloved. I created an illustration influenced by Samurai costume and kimono. On the right, you can see a women (inspired by women in Samurai Society) spread Sakura ;that symbolized peacefulness and spring; to the other 2 samurais on the left as the symbol of happiness (Samurai commander and his Shucho in Nanbokucho Period).
