x = +

Before I talk about my collection, I would like to explain the whole project.

There were 15 students (including me) from 12 different fashion schools in Jakarta and Bandung participating in 2015/2016 Indonesia Trend Forecasting team and we were mentored by Indonesia's best fashion designers and educators, such as Susan Budiharjo, Miss Stephanie (from Susan Budiharjo), Miss Patricia (Phalie Studio), Dina Midiani, Figtree, and others to create a collection that reflected our mentors (the team) trend vision. The main theme is Re+Habitat (Recovery), which divided into 4 sub-themes that reflect Indonesia's cities, such as Adroid (Jakarta), Alliance (Solo), Biommetic (Banjarmasin), and Veracious (Raja Empat), where each schools had to make a collection of the chosen sub-theme and showcased them in Indonesia Fashion Week 2014 last February 2014.

I did 5 outfits for this project, but in the end, 3 outfits were chosen to showcase in the fashion show and 1 outfit for display in Indonesia Fashion Week 2014.

The chosen trend: ALLIANCE

ALLIANCE was inspired by the city of Solo where modern and traditional elements mix together in harmony. I selected ALLIANCE because “it has a similarity to Japan, in which modernity is still balanced with their cultural heritage”.

The concept for this collection is like “x=+”, translating the theme of Recovery as the fusion of contradicting elements, creating a unique best-of-both-world feel.

Solo is getting more and more modern. However, its people still hold onto their traditional values. Between modernity and tradition. Between old and new. These two concepts that are opposed by nature (x) collaborate beautifully, creating a distinctive yet wonderful new culture (+).

This is MVL by MVLydia's (representing Raffles Design Institute Jakarta) latest collection, which was showcased in Trend Forecasting 2015/16 - Re+Habitat Fashion Show in Indonesia Fashion Week 2014.

Hope you like it~ :))

Hi guys!

Hi guys!

I'm so sorry that I have not posted anything for a very long time. I have been busy, especially I worked at Jeffry Tan (a very lovely guy, designer, and boss), while I made my JFFF 2014 collection, INNO-SENSE. Yes, it was kinda hectic ;) but fun.

So here are the things that happened to me after last new year.

February 2014
I was picked by Raffles Institute of Higher Education Jakarta to represent them in Indonesia Trend Forecasting team (a team that consists of fashion designers and educators (as tutors) and students from 12 different fashion schools in Jakarta and Bandung), so I have to make a collection based on the trend and showcase them in Indonesia Fashion Week 2014, which was 'x = +'

May 2014
After that I showcased my collection in JFFF 2014, representing the IFW's Trend Team and collaborating with IFW's sustainable team, which was 'INNO-SENSE'.

See you on the next post!

xx

Past Lessons | Future Protection - Jakarta Fashion Week 2014

Finally, I made it into JFW under my school, Raffles Institute of Higher Education Jakarta! After 2 years of dreaming and working hard, I made it!

PAST LESSONS | FUTURE PROTECTION

Past Lessons…
People make mistakes during the past and say that mistakes are lessons to make us more cautious of our actions in the future.

The happenings on the future happen due to the past events.

Future Protection...
I wonder, what is the future looks like? Where there are rumors about moving to the outer space are still flying around, protection of human kind, and even self protection. People are preparing to protect themselves, even though all of them are still unpredictable and pixelated.

I portray my concept by using unique silhouettes with futuristic cosmonauts feel. I also using printed fabric that I design, which is pixalated tenun ikat’s motif with futuristic background.

This collection made it into some online global publications and one printed publication

Hi there! I'm so sorry that I haven't posted anything since one or two months ago. Here we go!

This is actually my graduation collection, which I called "Metropole's Heritage"

This collection is suitable for women with a busy lifestyle of the executives living in a metropolitan city like Jakarta.

Maybe some of you see this as only a graduation collection, but it was more.

- Last but not least, my own graduation :) (October 2013)

Tailed Dress
The Emperor's Cape, Jumpsuit (along with batik tanktop)
All Squared Batik Mini Dress, Sleeveless Bolero with Cowls

La - De - Dah Lady

"Really? Do you think so? Really? Well la - de - dah?"                                                                                                  -Diane Keaton in Annie Hall-

Not so long ago, I watched a vintage movie titled 'Annie Hall', which was a late 70s movie, where Diane Keaton and Woody Allen took the leading role of this movie. It was good, and I really love how this movie, especially Diane Keaton's roles in this movie and her outfits were pioneers of androgynous style in fashion history.

In this collection, I am aiming for 23-27 years old women. I also create androgynous look for women's today's living that are suitable for casual and office wear.

Hopefully, you guys will like this.
PS: I've shown this to my lecturer and I already got the final result for each and everything that I post (especially for Portfolio class). So, NO COPYING! ;*

ps: I am so sorry, I don't know why some images turned to brown in this blog (even though the printed version is similar with the normal ones -__- )

Since long time ago, I have been crazy about Steampunk due to my sister's influence.
So this was my first assignment in Portfolio class. Probably you see my illustration style in this collection is different from the others. Well, in this course, I'd like to challenge myself to create different styles of illustration in each collection. ;)

Hopefully, you guys will like this.
